Visiting NATO headquarters, Klimkin discusses opening 'true NATO embassy' in Kyiv

BRUSSELS. Sept 7 (Interfax) - An agreement on 'interaction for the fight against Russian propaganda' will be among the documents to be signed during the upcoming visit of NATO Secretary General Yens Stoltenberg to Kyiv, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told reporters in Brussels on Monday.

"We have agreed to sign an agreement on the status of the NATO representative office in Ukraine during this visit. We are shifting away from the concept of having a NATO Liaison Office and creating, in fact, a proper NATO embassy to Ukraine instead," Klimkin said following his meeting with Stoltenberg.

Klimkin also mentioned other documents to be signed during Stoltenberg's visit.

"I would particularly mention our roadmap for defense and technical cooperation with NATO, and our interaction in the field of strategic communications or, in other words, our interaction in the fight against Russian propaganda," Klimkin said.

The precise date of the visit of Stoltenberg to Ukraine will be revealed within the next few days, Klimkin said.
