Zyuganov: Russia should recognize DPR, LPR

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Ukraine is already under external administration but Russia will now allow NATO forces to rule there, Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Russian Communist Party and its faction in the State Duma, said.

"Simultaneously, we should tell NATO, the U.S. and the Europeans that we will not let NATO rule in Ukraine. It upsets the entire balance of power that formed after the war and it poses a deadly threat to everyone," Zyuganov told a press conference.

He believes Ukraine "is under external administration" and Kyiv currently has "no full-fledged leadership" and the situation has got out of control there. "There is direct fighting for power going on," the politician said. "This fighting has now reached the top level," he said.

The West is now beginning to realistically assess the situation in this country. "Europe feels and understands that it got seriously burned" when it started supporting the current Kyiv regime, Zyuganov said.

"We are doing everything to bring peace to Novorossia. Tomorrow we are sending the 41st [humanitarian] convoy there," he said.

Zyuganov called for more active support of Novorossia. "Our viewpoint is that Russia should recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk Republics. That is, we should say directly that we will never let Nazi and Bandera people take over Novorossia or Kyiv," he said.
