MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Two members of illegal armed groups have been eliminated and another four detained in a special operation in Ingushetia, the information center of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee told Interfax.
According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, the operation was conducted in the Nazran district of the republic.
"According to the available information, 'the Nazran bandit group' is involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including the killings of law enforcement officials and civilians," the National Anti-Terrorist Committee said.
"It has been determined that the militants were preparing to carry out a terrorist attack in Ingushetia," the information center said.
According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, the active phase of the special operation continues. Operational search activities and investigative actions now continue on the outskirts of the village of Gazi-Yurt, Nazran district, and investigators are working to determine if the neutralized militants were involved in any other terrorist attacks.
"No law enforcement officers or civilians were hurt," the information center said.
