Russian resolution in UN SC should unite intl community in struggle against terrorism in Mideast - Grushko

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Diplomats will continue working on a Russian draft resolution in the UN Security Council devoted to the struggle against terrorism, which is destined to pool the efforts of the international community against the terrorist threat in the Middle East, Russian Permanent Representative at NATO Alexander Grushko said.

"Only when many European countries happened to be in sight of a terrorist threat, the understanding of the need for pooling efforts was realized. Unfortunately, we see that in the Middle East and North Africa not all the members of the coalition adhere to such an approach," Grushko wrote on the Twitter account of the Russian Permanent Mission to NATO.

"This is why Russia suggested giving this call the shape of a UN Security Council resolution, the relevant draft was submitted during a Security Council special meeting, now the diplomats continue working on the text of the relevant resolution," Grushko said.
