OULU (Finland). Oct 15 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he did not have any information so far that the ambassadors of Russia and the United States were allegedly summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, where it was stated to them about Ankara's concerns over alleged supplies of weapons to Syrian Kurds.
"I am not aware of the summoning of our and American ambassadors to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Probably, this happened while we were onboard the airplane," Lavrov told Interfax at a press conference in Finland.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Wednesday that Ankara had informed Moscow and Washington that the country considers impermissible weapons supplies to the groups of Syrian Kurds connected with the Kurdish Workers Party banned in Turkey.
"Turkey does not accept any cooperation with the terrorist groups fighting against Turkey. We notified the United States and Russia about our stance," Turkish media quoted the prime minister as saying in Istanbul.
It was previously reported that Ankara has expressed its protest to the U.S. and Russia over the weapons supplies to the Democratic Union leading party of Syrian Kurds, which is fighting against the ISIL terrorist grouping banned in Russia.
The protest was stated to the U.S. and Russian ambassadors who were summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The Turkish authorities are concerned that these weapons may be used by the Kurdish Workers Party banned in Turkey with which, according to Ankara, the Syrian Democratic Union is cooperating, the newspaper said.
It was reported that on Sunday, October 11, U.S. Air Force's aircraft have dropped 50 tonnes of ammunition in northern Syria for units of the moderate Syrian armed opposition and Kurdish militia fighting against ISIL.
"No one can guarantee that the weapons delivered to the Democratic Union Party today will not be used by the Kurdish Workers Party later," he said.
"Turkey will not tolerate the aid by weapons to the groups connected with the Kurdish Workers Party," he said.
"We will not tolerate the terror and the hips of weapons from Syria and Iraq to reach Turkey," the prime minister said.
