MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - The worsening situation in Afghanistan is fraught with the danger that terrorists might attempt an incursion into Central Asian states, Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) chief Alexander Bortnikov said.
"The escalation of tensions in Afghanistan causes serious concerns. Numerous criminal groups belonging to the Taliban are concentrated near this country's northern borders. Some of them have also joined the colors of the Islamic State, which has dramatically increased the threat that terrorists might attempt an incursion into Central Asia," Bortnikov said at a conference of security chiefs from the CIS countries on Wednesday.
Incidents on the borders of some CIS countries are occasionally taking place already now, he said.
