MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Over 600,000 Ukrainians who are in the territory of Russia are in breach of the migration legislation, Vadim Yakovenko, deputy head of the Federal Migration Service, told reporters on Friday.
"Some 2.6 million citizens of Ukraine are now in the territory of Russia, of which over one million have come from the southeastern regions. Of the remaining 1.6 million citizens of Ukraine, over 600,000 are now in breach of the regulations governing stay in the territory of Russia," Yakovenko said.
Yakovenko recalled that the period of extension of the temporary stay of Ukrainian citizens in Russia ends on November 1.
"In the period between November 1 and November 30, citizens of Ukraine who are in the territory of Russia are required to come to Federal Migration Service to determine their legal status. People who have not decided will be subjected to measures envisaged by the legislation, " he said.
