Attempt on life of Ramzan Kadyrov averted in Chechnya - media

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - The Chechen law enforcement agencies managed to prevent an attempt on the life of Ramzan Kadyrov, the Grozny TV channel reported.

It was reported that the regional leader pardoned the young people from Argun, who were detained by local law enforcement agencies on Monday.

"The detainees were preparing a terrorist act against Kadyrov. Despite this the regional leader pardoned the young people and gave them a chance to mend their ways," the TV channel said in a statement.

It was previously reported that at a meeting with young people fascinated by the Wahhabi ideology Kadyrov managed to instruct them to get back on the right track.

"I meet with young people in an informal atmosphere almost daily. I talked to a large group of Argun residents for more than five hours on Sunday, it appeared that around 20 people shared the loyalty to the Wahhabi ideology," Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram page.

"The half-educated imam" instilled in young people "hatred of the Chechen head as the main enemy of Wahhabism," the Chechen leader said.
