Putin beginning series of meetings on defense industry issues on Monday - Peskov

MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is beginning a series of meetings on military development and the work of the defense industry in Sochi on Monday.

"The next series of meetings on issues relating to army development, the fulfillment of state defense contracts and the general condition of the military industry is beginning. Military commanders and the main constructors of leading design bureaus and defense enterprises are taking part in them," Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

He added that the meetings will last all week.

The Russian president has a series of such meetings, to which officials from the Defense Ministry, defense enterprises and other relevant officials are invited, in Sochi twice a year. It will be the president's sixth session of meetings on military issues.
