Launch of first new Progress-MS resupply ship due on Dec 21 - Federal Space Agency

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Federal Space Agency has set the launch date of the first resupply ship of the new Progress MS series and the schedule of launches to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2016.

"The launch of the Progress-MS resupply ship will be made from the Baikonur space center on December 21, 2015," the space agency's website said.

In 2016, seven launches of manned spacecraft and resupply ships will be made from the Baikonur space center in interests of the orbital station. A first launch will be made on March 19, when the Soyuz TMA-20M manned spacecraft will fly on the orbit. Apart for it, next year three Progress-MS resupply ships will be launched (on March 31, July 4 and October 20) and three Soyuz-MS manned spacecraft with the crews will blast off (on June 21, September 23 and November 16).
