Putin meets with Merkel on G20 summit sidelines in Turkey

ANTALYA. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"We have done a lot today but there definitely other matters of bilateral interest," Putin said at the beginning of his meeting with Merkel.

This meeting is an opportunity to discuss "all problems you and I are dealing with," he said.

The German chancellor thanked Putin for the meeting and agreed that they had an opportunity to discuss various problems.

Merkel said that it was already late and she was happy for photographers who "could go to sleep" after the protocol events.

The meeting between Putin and Merkel started immediately after a working dinner of delegation heads of G20 member countries, guest states and international organizations. The dinner lasted for almost three hours instead of the planned 90 minutes.
