Kyrgyzstan stepping up security

BISHKEK. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies will step up security on the orders from Prime Minister Temir Sariyev after the terror attacks in France, a source in the Kyrgyz government press service told Interfax on Monday.

"Officers of law need to bolster interaction with security guard services of major shopping centers and social facilities and to take precautions due to the increased number of terror attacks in many countries of the world," the press service has quoted Sariyev as saying.

Representatives of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry and the State Committee for National Security told Interfax on Monday that law enforcement agencies had plans of the provision of security, preventive measures and the protection of social and strategic facilities.

Border guards have not tightened border security yet have enhanced inherent security, protection of border military sites and border control at checkpoints, Kyrgyz State Border Service spokesperson Gulmira Borubayeva told Interfax.
