KYIV. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The situation in observing the ceasefire along the line dividing the conflicting parties in Donbas remains very unstable, Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said.
In the last two weeks, the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of OSCE continues to observe violations of the ceasefire regime in several points, mostly to the north-west and the west of Donetsk and a little fewer violations in the northern and north-eastern outskirts of Horlivka, he said, adding that SMM also registers violations near the settlements Zolotoye, Telmanove and Volnovakha.
On Sunday, SMM registered an increase of up to 70 cases in the number of the violations in the area adjacent to the Donetsk airport, Hug said.
SMM monitors located near the Donetsk railway terminal observed 107 explosions in 19 minutes yesterday, he revealed. The ceasefire is quite unstable, he said.
Unlike in the case of the withdrawal of weapons of calibers under 100mm, SMM has no proof that the earlier withdrawn weapons of larger calibers are not in use anymore.
In particular, an SMM patrol discovered new 120mm-mortar shell craters near the settlement of Zaitseve.
