MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - A photograph of component parts of the explosive device that bombed the A321 plane proves that the bomb was made in Egypt unless this photo is a fake, a source in a Russian security service told Interfax on Friday.
"Notably, the can depicted by the released photo belongs to the brand sold exclusively in the territory of Egypt. This may be a proof that the bomb was made in that country rather than abroad or misinformation the terrorists [if the photo was released by them] planned to use for throwing the investigators off the scent," the source said.
'The theory that a refreshment aluminum can was used to make the explosive device is rather probable - its shell can contain a local-impact bomb equivalent of up to 1 kilogram of TNT with the capacity to destroy a plane's skin," he said.
Last Wednesday, the media reprinted a photo of component parts of a bomb allegedly similar to the one which blew up the Kogalymavia flight on October 31 published on an extremist website: the photograph depicted a Schweppes aluminum can, an electric detonator and an object which looked like an electrical fuse.
