MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Moscow shares concerns about escalating tensions in Donbas, Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich has said. The statement he made at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting on Thursday was published on the Russian Foreign Ministry website on Friday.
"We share concerns about markedly escalating tensions in Donbas. The level of ceasefire violations brings us back to the period before the truce was declared in connection with the new school year," Lukashevich said in his statement.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are using Grad rocket launchers, mortars with various calibers and other types of weapons. The most dangerous fact is the resumed shelling of residential areas, including schools. An increasing number of attacks are conducted in daylight when there are many people in the streets of Donetsk, Horlivka and other cities of Donbas," the statement said.
The Ukrainian representative was told at the November 17 meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk, with reference to the latest statistical data from the OSCE SMM, that the Ukrainian side was mostly responsible for the intensified shelling incidents, Lukashevich said.
