Global terrorist threat requires more active Russian-U.S. interaction - Kremlin aide

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The terrorist threat in the world requires more active interaction between Russia and the United States, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.

Speaking at a news conference in Moscow on Friday, Ushakov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Francois Hollande's upcoming meeting in Moscow is special, among other things, in that it will take place after the French leader's visit to Washington.

"It would certainly be interesting to meet with Hollande after he tests his ideas first on the American partners, at a meeting with [U.S. President Barack] Obama," Ushakov said.

"After all, the current situation calls for more active cooperation between all countries, not to mention such countries as the U.S. and Russia, which bear special responsibility both for security in the world and for fighting terrorism as one of the primary threats," Ushakov said.
