MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Russian missile systems deployed in Syria are not directed against Russia's partners in the fight against terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
"These air defense missile systems are not directed against our partners, with whom we are combating terrorists in Syria, in any way," Putin said after talks with French President Francois Hollande in Moscow on Thursday.
Russia's Defense Ministry said earlier that Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems had already been deployed in Syria and had entered into service in order to ensure the security of Russian Aerospace Force planes taking part in the air campaign against Islamic State and other terrorist groups.
