If France is serious about fighting terrorism, we can only welcome this - Syrian foreign minister (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Damascus is ready to support France's initiative announced by its Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius of fighting terrorism in Syria, if it really sets itself the stated goals, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said on Friday.

"If Fabius is genuinely serious about fighting terrorism in cooperation with the forces that are fighting terror in Syria on the ground, we can only welcome this," he told a press conference in Moscow after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"This requires radical changes in France's and other countries' position on resolution of the Syrian crisis," Muallem said.

The Syrian army is ready to coordinate its operations in Syria with any other country's army, Muallem added.

"The Syrian army is ready for coordination with any other army, ready to conduct consultations as far as the fight against ISIL is concerned," he said.
