MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has met with Syria's First Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
"The pair discussed the chemical demilitarization of Syria and the cooperation between Damascus and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The two diplomats also discussed the problem of a joint UN-OPCW mechanism in the investigation of chemical weapon uses in Syria, which was set up under UN Security Council Resolution N2235.
