MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia is resuming the production of the Tupolev TU-160 strategic bomber in a Tu-160M2 modification, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said on Rossiya-24 television.
"It will be a new aircraft: Tu-160M2. It will be 100% recreated in a digital form, and it will have 100% new onboard radio-electronic equipment. As well as the new onboard radio-electronic system, the aircraft will also contain new material," Borisov said.
"Work is going as scheduled, we hope deliveries of this model will begin no later than 2023," he said.
