MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The Kulob motorized rifle regiment of the Russian military base in Tajikistan has been transferred to Dushanbe to increase the unit's combat readiness, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The redeployment, which aims to increase the combat readiness and combat potential of the units, was carried out within the timeframe pre-agreed with the Tajik Defense Ministry," the Central Military District said in a press release obtained by Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.
"The redeployment has not resulted in changes to the numbers within the Russian unit or its peacetime or wartime missions," the spokesperson said.
