Defense Ministry promises to publish results of decoding black box from Russian bomber downed by Turks on Dec 21

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - The results of decoding data from the flight data recorder from the Russian Su-24 bomber, which was shot down by the Turkish Air Force in Syria, will be published on Monday, December 21, the deputy chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces' flight safety service, Sergei Bainetov, has said.

"Today we plan to take measures to remove the solid-state recording device from the recorder and start to work to assemble it on a technological stand," he told a press briefing at the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) on Friday.

Steps are also expected to be taken to copy this information and form a flight data file, he added.

Specialists plan to analyze and process the flight data on Saturday, December 19.

"After this work is completed and the results are received, these results will be made public at this [IAC] hall on Monday, December 21," Bainetov said.
