MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The participants in a Collective Security Treaty Organization's (CSTO) Collective Security Council session scheduled for December 21 at the Kremlin in Moscow are expected to adopt a statement on opposing international terrorism, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov said.
"The Collective Security Council meeting will be held in a narrow format and in a plenary session format," Zainetdinov told Interfax-AVN on Friday.
The CSTO leaders "will exchange opinions on the current situation in the world and discuss key international security problems and the CSTO's possible steps toward their resolution," he said.
"The CSTO heads of state are expected to adopt a statement on opposing international terrorism and sign Collective Security Council decisions concerning the rotation of officials of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's permanent working bodies," Zainetdinov said.
Earlier in the same day, Moscow will host a CSTO Foreign Ministers Council meeting chaired by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, at which the CSTO foreign policy chiefs will consider the agenda of the upcoming Collective Security Council session, Zainetdinov said.
The Collective Security Council is composed of the heads of state of the CSTO member-states, i.e. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is performing the duties as the chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the 2015-2016 inter-session period.
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will take part in the CSTO Collective Security Council and the Foreign Ministers Council meetings, Zainetdinov said.
