Medvedev not planning to discuss NATO expansion in Munich

MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is not planning to discuss NATO's eastward expansion plans at bilateral talks with foreign partners during a Munich conference.

"He is not planning to. This is the prerogative of the President and [Russian Foreign Minister] Lavrov. This is not within the powers of the head of government," Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko told reporters, when asked if Medvedev was planning to discuss NATO's expansion eastward at bilateral talks with partners.

On Friday the Russian prime minister is traveling to Munich to attend a security conference. Medvedev will hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference.
