Refugee problem could lead Europe to what Russia faced in 1990s - Medvedev

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Europe could face problems similar to those Russia had in the Caucasus in the 1990s unless it finds the right approach to solving its refugee problem, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has said.

"Unfortunately, I am not ruling out that a similar situation could happen somewhere in Europe - God forbid - and then you'll have to face what we faced in the 1990s," he said in an interview with the German Handelsblatt newspaper ahead of his trip to Munich for the International Security Conference.

"Of course, we would very much like this not to happen, we hope that you will still manage to find the right approach to the national-religious policy," the premier added.
