Russian Foreign Ministry is skeptical about U.S. plans to send extra contingent to Afghanistan

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - A high-ranking Russian diplomat has expressed skepticism about the U.S. plans to send an extra contingent to southern Afghanistan to strengthen the fight against the Taliban.

"In my view, all these things indicate that Washington currently has no unified vision of the Afghan reality and no coordinated policy in this country," Zamir Kabulov, Russian special envoy for Afghanistan and director of the second department for Asia of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told Interfax.
