Gryzlov on agreements signed in Minsk: one more step taken to tighten security regime as part of Package of Measures

MINSK. March 2 (Interfax) - Russian Plenipotentiary Representative in the Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in southeastern Ukraine Boris Gryzlov assesses the agreements which were signed in Minsk on Wednesday as one more step on the way to peace in this region.

"Today one more step has been taken to tighten the security regime as part of the Minsk Package of Measures: the parties agreed on the texts of the two agreements which were drafted in the Trilateral Contact Group's subgroups on Tuesday," Gryzlov told reporters, following the group's meeting.

Despite some disagreements, the parties have reached common understanding, he said.

The first agreement envisages a ban on shooting drills in the 15-kilometer area of the contact line with a total width of 30 kilometers. "The second one is about mine clearance in 12 priority areas," he also said.
