MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Russia expects that the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine will impartially assess the unilateral sanctions that a number of countries have imposed on the residents of Crimea, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
"We expect that the UN Mission in the future will make an impartial judgment about the illegal unilateral sanctions directly violating human rights, that a number of countries have imposed on Crimean residents," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in commenting on the UN Mission's report on human rights in Ukraine.
The Foreign Ministry said that UN monitors pointed out in their report that "the peninsula's blockade by Ukrainian and Crimean Tartar radicals, with the Ukrainian authorities' absolute connivance, caused serious damage to the Crimeans' fundamental rights."
