HMEIMIM. March 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian center on reconciliation of the conflicting parties located at the Hmeimim airbase in Syria reported 27 violations of the ceasefire regime that took place on Syrian territory in the past 24 hours.
"Aleppo remains the place with the highest number of violations (eight episodes)," the Center said in its information bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry website on Friday.
Seven instances of ceasefire violations were recorded in Idlib, four in Damascus and Homs, three in Daraa and only one in Latakia.
"In the Aleppo province, the urban residential areas of Sheikh Maqsood, Sheikh-Akil, al-Castello, and al-Murj were repeatedly shelled by mortars from units of the Jabhat Ansar al-Din and the Fastaqim Kama Umirta groups," according to the bulletin.
An unidentified armed group fired mortar shells on the residential district of Karm al-Jabal, from firing positions near Kagir al-Asham, the Center said.
