Lavrov, Kerry voice concern with humanitarian crisis in Yemen in telephone conversation - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in a telephone conversation voiced concern with the exacerbating humanitarian situation due to the armed conflict in Yemen, agreed to continue cooperation in seeking for its peaceful settlement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on Sunday.

"The Minister and the State Secretary continued discussing the continuing conflict in Yemen, voicing concern with its hard humanitarian aftermath," the statement reads.

"The agreement was reached to continue cooperation with all involved sides and with UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ahmed in the interests of seeking for the ways of peaceful settlement through the political dialogue," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
