Putin says plans to visit China in summer 2016

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China in summer 2016.

"I plan to visit the People's Republic of China in summer 2016. I hope we will have a good, substantive and friendly conversation with the leader of China, with whom we really have very warm working and personal friendly relations," Putin said during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The president also asked the minister to send his best wishes to the Chinese leader.

He said he knows of the substantive negotiations that Wang Yi had with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Russian president said Russia values very highly the level of Russian-Chinese relations and Russia and China continue cooperation on the international scene, in the economics and in the humanitarian sphere. "Our strategic partnership is gaining momentum," Putin said.
