Kremlin refers question about sending of Russian military helicopters to Syria to Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov has referred to the Russian Defense Ministry the question about the alleged sending of Russian military helicopters to Syria.

"As to these reports, of course, it is better to ask the Defense Ministry these questions," Peskov told reporters on Monday.

At the same time, Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a decision to withdraw the Russian contingent from Syria, but a decision has also been made that the temporary Russian military bases in Hmeimim and Tartus will stay and they will be protected.

The U.S. private analytical company Stratfor earlier reported that Russia has recently transferred helicopters, including Mi-28 and Ka-52, to Syria.
