Shoigu, Indian counterpart discuss defense cooperation

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - The Russian and Indian defense ministers, Sergei Shoigu and Manohar Parrikar, respectively, spoke by telephone on Wednesday, to discuss pressing issues related to the military and military-technical cooperation of mutual interest, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The parties praised the achieved level of interaction and outlined areas of its subsequent development," reads the statement.

"The parties had a frank and friendly conversation, and reaffirmed their mutual resolve to further increase defense cooperation," the ministry said.
