Russia, U.S. set to coordinate counter-terrorist efforts in Yemen, Libya - Russian foreign ministry

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - Moscow and Washington are calling for coordinated efforts to oppose terrorists' plans to turn Yemen and Libya into a bridgehead for their subversive activities, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement after a meeting between the Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and United States Under Secretary of State Thomas Shannon.

"In this respect, the parties noted the importance of efficient coordinated efforts to oppose extremists' plans to turn these two states into bridgeheads for their subversive activities," reads the statement.
