YEREVAN. April 1 (Interfax) - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden have conferred on Armenian-U.S. relations and regional and global affairs at a meeting in Washington DC.
Sargsyan pointed out that Armenian-U.S. partnership had reached the highest level ever, the presidential press service said. He lauded U.S. assistance in Armenia's economic development and reforms.
"Sargsyan declared the importance of the U.S. role in the provision of regional stability and peace, including its active involvement in the Karabakh peace process. The president said he pinned hopes on the active involvement of the international community and mediating countries in the efforts towards sobering the Azerbaijani administration and expected them to take effective steps while it was still possible to change something," the press service said.
Biden praised Armenia for taking in and accommodating many refugees from Syria, the press service said.
