WASHINGTON. April 19 (Interfax) - Washington supports the process of reconciliation between the Afghan government and the Taliban and will accept any solution, provided the Taliban and other armed groups end violence, cut ties with terrorists and accept the Afghan constitution.
"We are ready to accept any political resolution of the conflict between the Afghan government and the Taliban so long as the outcome of any process ensures that the Taliban and other armed Afghan opposition groups end violence, break any associations with international terrorism, and accept Afghanistan's constitution, including its protections for women and minorities," a State Department official told Interfax on Tuesday, when asked if Washington agrees with Moscow on the possibility of removing the Taliban movement from the UN list of terror groups.
