First group of Northern Fleet ship-based planes arrives in Crimea for training at aircraft carrier deck simulator

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Several airplanes of the 279th separate ship-based fighter jet regiment of the Russian Northern Fleet's Naval Air Force landed in Crimea on Tuesday to take part in ship-based aircraft pilots' training at the NITKA ground-based naval pilot training center, which is an aircraft carrier deck simulator, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

"Today, four [Sukhoi] Su-33 and three Su-25UTG [planes] from the 279th regiment landed at an airfield near the town of Saki," he said.
