Development of promising Husky nuclear submarine's rough design to be completed in 2018 - United Shipbuilding Corporation (Part 2)

MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Enterprises of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) are developing an image of a promising Husky nuclear-powered submarine, its development is planned to be finalized in 2018, United Shipbuilding Corporation Vice President for military shipbuilding Igor Ponomaryov told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

"One can judge the prospects of construction and the specifics of this project only after the development of the rough design is completed in approximately two years," Ponomaryov said.

According to the open press, Husky-class submarines are designed by the St. Petersburg-based naval machinery design bureau "Malakhit" (part of USC). They are expected to be armed with Zircon supersonic cruise missiles.
