Russia and U.S. agree to extend 'regime of quiet' in Syria's Aleppo for another 48 hours - Russian Defense Ministry (Part 2)

HMEIMIM. May 10 (Interfax) - The 'regime of quiet' in the Syrian city of Aleppo has been extended from 00:01 a.m. on May 10 for another 48 hours, the chief of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria, Lt. Gen. Sergei Kuralenko, told reporters on Tuesday.

"With the consent of the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic and the moderate opposition, the Russian and American sides have extended the 'regime of quiet' in the city of Aleppo from 00:01 a.m. on May 10 for another 48 hours," the general said.

"The current 'regime of quiet' in the city Aleppo has helped markedly reduce tensions and secure a decline in the overall number of truce violations," Kuralenko said.
