Kyiv records over 30 strikes on its positions in Donbas in past 24 hours

KYIV. June 7 (Interfax) - Militia forces have opened fire on Ukrainian military positions in Donbas 32 times in the past 24 hours, the press center of Kyiv's army operation said on its Facebook account on Tuesday.

Ukrainian checkpoints near Avdiivka, the Butovka mine and Opytne, Donetsk region, were shelled 14 times, using all types of small arms and 82mm mortars, the press center said.

Militia forces also opened fire on Ukrainian army positions in the vicinity of Mayorsk, Zaitseve and Luhanske, the press center said.

Strikes were also conducted on Ukrainian military checkpoints near Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske, Shyrokyne and Kyrove near the city of Mariupol.

The situation in the Luhansk region "was relatively quiet" last night, it said.
