KYIV. June 9 (Interfax) - Militia forces have opened fire on Ukrainian military positions in Donbas 43 times using artillery weapons, the press center of Kyiv's army operation said on its Facebook account on Thursday.
Militia units were firing "all kinds of small arms and mortars of different calibers" in the direction of Ukrainian army positions in Avdiivka, Peski and Opytne in the Donetsk region, and, at around 10:00 p.m., they also used "powerful 152mm artillery systems" in violation of the Minsk agreements, the press center said.
Grenade launchers of different systems and small arms were used against Ukrainian military positions near Luhanske and Novhorodske. Heavy mortars were also used along with the aforementioned weapons against Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Mayorsk and Zaitseve.
The militia violated the truce in the Luhansk region as well, the press center said.
Ukrainian Armed Forces units returned fire on a number of occasions, the press center said.
