DPR accuses Ukraine of disrupting video conference called after night attack on Makiyivka, Donetsk suburbs

DONETSK. June 9 (Interfax) - The contact group video conference was cancelled through the fault of Ukraine without giving any reasons, Denis Pushilin, DPR envoy in the negotiations in Minsk, said.

"We have initiated an emergency meeting of the contact group in a video conference mode, even the time was initially scheduled, but then the meeting was unfortunately cancelled because of the Ukrainian side. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the fourth measure of the additional agreements, which have been signed recently, has been violated," Pushilin said.

Pushilin said that "each party has a right to call emergency video conferences or contact group meetings in person and this meeting is used for preventing or stopping attacks or some other emergency situations." "Unfortunately, it's not the first time, and Ukraine is sabotaging it," he said.

Pushilin said the DPR has written a new letter to meet at any time convenient to everyone.

"Night or day, but it should be done in the near future, before the meeting in person on the 15th, because this attack caused serious damage and casualties, such things, unfortunately, may occur again tonight or the next night, we can't allow a new escalation because we are again on the verge of a full-scale military conflict, full-scale military action," he said.

He sad that the reason why Ukraine is refusing is not named.

"But it is absolutely obvious to us because Ukraine has no arguments, they have nothing to say why they have again breached the ceasefire, why they opened fire. Moreover, we have prepared fully official information on who issued the orders to open fire on our populated areas, who bears full responsibility for that directly and personally," Pushilin said.
