Russian, Japanese diplomats hold another round of talks on peace treaty in Tokyo - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - High-ranking Russian and Japanese diplomats held negotiations on a peace treaty problem in Tokyo, and this dialogue will be continued, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

"In keeping with an agreement reached following Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Sochi on May 6 this year, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and Japanese government representative for relations with Russia Tikahito Harada held the third round of Russian-Japanese negotiations on the peace treaty problem," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement shared with Interfax on Wednesday.

"An agreement has been reached on continuing the dialogue in this format," it said.
