MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - Council of Europe (CoE) member countries, among them Russia, stick to common standards and should respond to global threats together, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Petro Agramunt said.
Agramunt told State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin on the sidelines of the 47th session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) that the sides adhered to common standards, and that it was time to respond to common threats and challenges together.
International terrorism was the first threat of the kind mentioned by the PACE president.
The fight against international terrorism is very important today, Agramunt said.
He expressed solidarity with the Turkish people and government in connection with Tuesday's bombing at Istanbul airport.
The PACE president mentioned the importance of 'promoting dialogue' amongst fundamental principles of the CoE and PACE.
