MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Rostec's Russian Helicopters Holding (MOEX: VERR) has delivered another batch of Mil Mi-8AMTSh helicopters to the Russian Defense Ministry ahead of schedule and has begun commissioning trials of Mil Mi-8AMTSh-VA Arctic helicopters.
"Russian Helicopters Holding has delivered another batch of Mil Mi-8AMTSh helicopters to the Russian Defense Ministry ahead of schedule, within the framework of the unified military goods commissioning day," the holding press service told Interfax on Friday.
The Mil Mi-8AMTSh military transport helicopters were built and supplied to the Russian Defense Ministry ahead of schedule by the Ulan-Ude Aircraft Plant of Russian Helicopters Holding under governmental defense orders.
The Ulan-Ude Aircraft plant has begun commissioning trials of Mil Mi-8AMTSh-VA Arctic helicopters in the course of the fulfillment of 2016 governmental defense orders, Russian Helicopters said. "This vehicle has been customized to meet main peculiarities of helicopters' use in northern latitudes," the holding said.
The Russian Defense Ministry is due to receive a batch of Mil Mi-8AMTSh-VA helicopters in 2016, in accordance with governmental contracts. Another batch of helicopters is due to be supplied in 2017, Russian Helicopters said.
"The Russian Defense Ministry is the largest buyer of Russian Helicopters' products, and the fulfillment of governmental defense orders is a core activity of the holding. Mil Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-8AMTSh-VA helicopters, which are scheduled to be supplied in 2016 in accordance with governmental contracts, will be received by the Russian Defense Ministry in due time," Russian Helicopters Holding General Director Alexander Mikheyev said.
