MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian National Guard servicemen took part in 63 special operations in the North Caucasus over the past week, the interim information center of the Federal National Guard Service told Interfax.
"Sixty-three special operations were held in the North Caucasus region last week with the participation of National Guard servicemen attached to the combined group of forces; three militants were neutralized, five pieces of militants' infrastructures were destroyed, and 12 pieces of firearms and over 1,000 pieces of ammunition were seized," the information center said.
National Guard servicemen accomplished 281 missions to enforce public order, including 51 in mass events, it said.
"Together with police officers and military servicemen, more than 16,000 persons were detained in mass events for a breach of the peace and 358 suspected criminals were apprehended," the information center said.
