MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Tupolev Tu-142MZ long-range anti-submarine aircraft of the Russian Pacific Fleet stationed at the Kamenny Ruchei airfield in the Khabarovsk region have drilled anti-submarine tasks during training flights.
"Tu-142MZ drilled the tasks of searching, classifying and tracking submarines of an imaginary enemy with a comprehensive use of radiolocation and hydroacoustic detection means," Capt. 2nd Rank Vladimir Matveyev, head of the information department for the Pacific Fleet of the Eastern Military District press service said.
The aircraft also flied training missions for maximum flight duration, he said.
"The aircraft drilled flying over textureless area and teamwork while flying without ground radiotechnical aeronavigation means both in the daytime and nighttime," Matveyev said.
