MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Donetsk is insisting on Kyiv's return of nearly 1,000 captives in exchange for 42 Ukrainian servicemen, who are still being held at penitentiaries in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"We are insisting on the fulfillment of the formula of all-for-all swap on those lists, which had been presented and agreed upon. However, the Ukrainian side has made no new proposals to us yet," DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova told Interfax.
The list of 964 names of DPR followers, who are being held on the Kyiv-controlled Ukrainian territory, has been passed to the Ukrainian side, she said. Besides, 42 Ukrainian captives remain in the DPR, she said.
"From our list of 964 people Kyiv has already confirmed 618 people, we are holding 42 people, we are ready for a swap in the all-for-all format," she said.
Besides, the government of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) told Interfax that they had sent to Kyiv the list of nearly 300 names of the LPR supporters, who are being held on the Kyiv-controlled territory. "Meanwhile, we are still holding only three detained Ukrainian servicemen," he said.
In turn, Kyiv said that 107 Ukrainian captives were being held in the self-proclaimed Donbas republics.
Donbas assumes that 62 Ukrainian servicemen, whose whereabouts cannot be detected, can be among the unidentified casualties in the hostilities. "These people are not listed among the detainees either on our side or in Donetsk. Most likely, they should be searched for among the unidentified killed servicemen," he said.
