HANGZHOU. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the parties can discuss bilateral relations and problematic issues of mutual interest.
"Dear Federal Chancellor, dear colleagues, good evening! It seem to me that though it is late, but this is good that we have the opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, and some problems, which are of mutual interest and which we are so insistently working on in order to resolve them," Putin said at the meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
Merkel said at the meeting with Putin that she wants to discuss Ukraine.
"I am very glad that we have the possibility to hold these talks. It is still early, still afternoon in Europe. I think that those issues which we will discuss are so important that it is good we are now having the opportunity to discuss bilaterally, for instance, Ukraine," Merkel said.
