CSTO, SCO, CIS officials to discuss security issues in Minsk

MINSK. Sept 5 (Interfax-AVN) - A meeting of Rashid Alimov, secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Nikolai Bordyuzha, secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and Sergei Lebedev, chairman of the Executive Committee and executive secretary of the CIS, will take place in Minsk on September 11, the press service for the CIS Executive Committee said.

"During the meeting, it is expected that the outcome of the anniversary summit of the heads of state of the SCO countries held in Tashkent in June 2016 will be addressed and opinions on issues relating to security and stability in the region and in the world exchanged," the press service said.

The parties will also speak about the work done by their organizations on the priority integration development track and plans for the future, he said.

"The meeting will also address approaches to the planning of the joint work of the executive bodies of the SCO, the CSTO and the CIS and [the meeting participants] will approve measures on information support of the work of the organizations and the strengthening of their positive international image," the executive committee said.
